It’s a duet as strange as Shaggy and Sting… which, surprisingly also happened. (Thanks Google!) Mr. Lovah Lovah recently told The Guardian that when he met Prince Harry in 2012, when the handsome young Prince was visiting Jamaica’s Bustamante Hospital for Children, he was surprised to discover that the Royal was a Shaggy fan.
The reggae singer revealed, “When Prince Harry came to Jamaica he came to visit the Bustamante Hospital for Children. My daughter thought he was supposed to be a prince on a horse, like in her storybook. He turned to me and said, ‘Wow, she’s just so not impressed,’ and then he sang, ‘It Wasn’t Me’. So Prince Harry is a Shaggy fan!”
Harry has always had his Mother’s humble sense of humor! But can you imagine the Prince breaking out into, “Honey came in and she caught me red-handed creeping with the girl next door…” Pretty fly for a white guy.
Shaggy was also excited to talk about his encounter with the Queen. “I played at her 92nd birthday party at the Royal Albert Hall.” He told The Guardian. “I’d like to think that the Queen is a big Shaggy fan.” He joked, “Afterwards I was standing right beside her. It would have been crazy if she was like, ‘Hello, Mr Boombastic.'”
