Did you know that Travel + Leisure named Montecito one of “The 50 Best Places to Travel in 2019”? Despite a global pandemic, Santa Barbara/Montecito is reporting an increase in tourism thanks to their new neighbors, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Their tourism website even has an entire page dedicated to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Here are 5 things we would pack on our Santa Barbara getaway!
5. My favorite large tote (above) comes from Los Angeles Trading Co. and it’s currently on sale! Score The Vegan Tote – Animal Lover for just $42. My friend Lisa saw mine and had to cop the same bag! The tote fits my laptop perfectly… you could even fit a large beach town. The size is 18″ x 12″ x 6″ (inside pocket – 9″ x 6″) and is a vegan leather material that is incredibly durable, “just wet a cloth and wipe it down to keep it nice as new.”
4. Ever since we moved closer to the beach, I’ve slept with a Perpetual Shade sleep mask over my eyes. Closer to the beach typically equals lack of air conditioning and lack of air conditioning means big (bright) windows. I love my sleep masks but what recently caught my attention was PS’s luxury inspired face masks. Affordable ($25) and fun, I can’t imagine any other way to safely vacay.
3. Can I tell you about my new toothbrush? I only started using it because it was pretty. Gold and charcoal bristles on a crystal clear stem! Nano-b “uses the natural antibacterial properties of gold, silver and bamboo charcoal to reduce bacteria on your toothbrush and keep your mouth healthier,” says their website. Nano-b claims that their bristles eliminate 99% of harmful bacteria. Does it work? Well, I’m not a scientist but I can attest to the fact that my breath is fresher in the morning and my teeth do feel incredibly clean. Bonus: Each toothbrush comes with a cute travel case. ($13)
2. If you want to enjoy a quick swim before dinner or love to shower before snuggling in to your chilled hotel room sheets, Kitsch Microfiber Towel Scrunchies are a travel must! The soft microfiber helps to expedite drying your hair. They’re fabulous and come in several different styles. I prefer my palm trees print! For $18, you get two!
1. I’ve worn Taylor Reeve heels for at least 5 years now. Some of my pairs I consider too pretty to wear and keep them in a plastic case displayed like the art that they are! My getaway shoes would be “Palm Springs High Heels.” They are elegant and graceful but with a hint of sass! “Inspired by the infamous wall in front of the Parker hotel in Palm Springs,” they’re white and gold with art deco vibes. Flip them over for the most fun surprise! $85
