Prince William and Prince Harry make rare joint statement – 23 years after Princess Diana’s death

Prince William and Prince Harry have made a rare joint statement post Megxit, in honor of their Mother, Princess Diana. The release from Kensington Palace reads: “The statue that Prince William and Prince Harry have commissioned to commemorate their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, will be installed next year on what would have been her 60th birthday.”

The art work was commissioned to mark the 20th anniversary of her death and will be installed in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace on July 1 2021, to mark Princess Diana’s 60th birthday.

The design of this statue was announced in December of 2017 but updates on it’s progress have been delayed due to COVID-19.

On the sculptor, Ian Rank-Broadley, TRH said in 2017: “Ian is an extremely gifted sculptor and we know that he will create a fitting and lasting tribute to our mother. We look forward to unveiling the statue, which will allow all those who visit Kensington Palace to remember and celebrate her life and legacy.”

Princess Diana died in a car accident in Paris on August 31, 1997.
