Josh O’Connor warned us of Emma Corrin’s spot-on Princess Diana transformation [VIDEO]

The Crown‘s Emma Corrin, Josh O’Connor, and Emerald Fennell are on the cover of Town & Country‘s November 2020 issue! The pictures are… To Di For! The (faux?) fur, the plaid, the gaudy jewels! We’re not worthy!

The Sun reported in March of 2019 that The Crown had officially started the difficult task of finding the perfect Princess Diana. The casting notice read, “We need a mesmerizing new young star with extraordinary range.” And included the hefty description, “She has to play charming comedy, flirt and social exhibitionist on the world stage, desperate and lonely self-harmer at her lowest ebb and the kind of psychological intensity of Mia Farrow in Rosemary’s Baby.” Oh.

Inevitably it would be Emma Corrin that proved to be The Crown‘s “staggeringly talented young actress.” Skip to October of 2020 and she’s explaining to Town & Country Magazine how she officially secured the life changing role.

Emma says her agent called with an opportunity to run lines as Diana but stressed that it was not an audition. “Obviously, I was like, ‘I’m going to prepare as if it were,'” she told the magazine.

Emma’s mother is a speech therapist and the two immediately went to work on Diana’s delicate diction. “No matter what Diana is saying, it kind of goes down at the end,” she explains. “It’s like a sadness.”

Josh O’Connor, who plays Prince Charles, says he was in awe of her. “This young actress who hadn’t done an awful lot, and here she was inhabiting Diana, seemingly quite easily.” He told Town & Country.

He’s right. Today Netflix released a new trailer for The Crown Season 4. We hear Emma Corrin’s Diana for the first time… and it’s chilling! Take a listen…

Goosebumps! We can’t wait for November 15th!!!
