‘The Crown’ Season 4 releases new teaser and it’s better than ever

WE. CAN’T. TAKE. THE. CINEMATIC. EXCELLENCE. WE. JUST. WITNESSED.

The Crown Season 4 premieres on November 15th and Netflix has just blessed us with a NEW teaser! We have already been given beautiful glimpses of Emma Corrin as Lady Di but today’s trailer finally gave us a peek into the breakdown of Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage. Prince Charles has been very gently (and generously!) portrayed by Josh O’Connor and this is the first time we really see him lose his tempter.

“I don’t want to give anything away, but I’ll say that hopefully, people will feel sorry for Charles in season three, and then, maybe, we’ll change that in season four,” Josh told Town & Country Magazine.

Princess Diana and Prince Charles notoriously came to blows throughout the end of the marriage. Paul Burrell, their butler, has revealed walking in on Prince Charles cleaning up broken glass after one horrific argument. Diana would tell her friends that they fought about one simple thing… Camilla Parker-Bowles.

Gillian Anderson is a dead ringer for Margaret Thatcher and we’re anxious to see her relationship develop with Olivia Colman’s Queen.

Here’s what we know about The Crown‘s Season 4…

  • Olivia Colman returns as Queen Elizabeth II.
  • Tobias Menzies returns as Prince Philip.
  • Helena Bonham Carter returns as Princess Margaret.
  • Ben Daniels returns as Antony Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon.
  • Josh O’Connor returns as Prince Charles!!!
  • Emma Corrin is being introduced as Princess Diana!!!
  • Emerald Fennell will return as Camilla.
  • Erin Doherty is returning as Princess Anne.
  • Marion Bailey returns as Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.
  • Charles Dance returns as Lord Mountbatten.
  • Gillian Anderson will be playing Margaret Thatcher.

Claire Foy is rumored to return to the role of Queen Elizabeth II for a flashback scene!

On playing Princess Diana, Emma Corrin says, “Princess Diana was an icon and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring. To explore her through Peter Morgan’s writing is the most exceptional opportunity, and I will strive to do her justice.”

Paul Bettany was strongly being considered for the role of Prince Philip but was forced to step back due to the time commitment required.

There will be 10 episodes. The 4th season will introduce us to Lady Diana Spencer and is set during Margaret Thatcher’s premiership. We will see Lady Di and Prince Charles’ fairytale wedding… The Crown even recreated Di’s iconic wedding dress…

“The Emanuels, who designed the original, gave us the patterns, and then it was made for me,” Emma told British Vogue. “We were filming the scene when you first see her in the wedding dress—I think it was Lancaster House in London—and I had a team of about 10 people helping me put it on, because it’s massive. I walked out and everyone went completely silent,” she teased.

We’re expected to meet Prince William and Prince Harry.

According to reports, the events depicted will include Michael Fagan’s break-in to Buckingham Palace and the Princess Diana’s appearance at the Barnado’s Champion Children Awards along with her 1989 flight on Concorde.

Netflix has renewed The Crown for a 6th season, despite previously planning to end the series with Season 5.

“As we started to discuss the storylines for Series 5, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons,” Crown creator Peter Morgan told Deadline.

Can’t decide if I’m more excited for November 15th or CHRISTMAS!
