How Meghan Markle can protect her skin from LA’s dangerous heat wave

Welcome back to our Royals Inspired series. The Duchess of Sussex is our inspiration but not associated with the content.

Even celebrity Duchesses have to suffer through sweltering summers. The Los Angeles area is currently experiencing an excessive heat warning so we ask Candace Marino, aka the LA FACIALIST, how Meghan might keep her skin pristine during these dangerously hot conditions.

“Sweat and humidity can cause breakouts, bacteria build up and congestion,” Marino tells To Di for Daily. She suggests you triple cleanse this summer. “Cleanse throughout the day, not just as you are getting ready to do your night time routine and pass out. This is the best way to keep skin clean,” Kourtney Kardashian’s favorite Skin Goddess stresses.

Start out with an oil based cleanser to break down all of your makeup, SPF and oil. Next, rinse with a gel or milky cleanser to begin the cleansing process for a clean canvas. Finally, use a mild exfoliating cleanser with acids or enzymes to dissolve build up and help treat pores.

Marino says that dryness and dehydration can be an issue so find a hydrating serum that you love. We know Markle dodges dehydration with DERMA E’s Hydrating Mist With Hyaluronic.

Here are some quick tips from Grimes and Miranda Kerr’s Skin Guru…

  • Keep it simple by day – Use only what you need, no need to add unnecessary layers
  • Watch the order – If acne prone use an anti-acne serum between antioxidant serum and SPF.
  • Workout fresh faced and cleansed NO skincare [but don’t skin SPF if you are outside]
  • Always be 100% cooled down before applying skincare or sunscreen
  • Leave ample time between skincare / sunscreen and heading outside —
  • Products have ample time to penetrate and get to work
  • Excessive sweat can diminish efficacy
  • Elimination process can also include our actives

Follow these steps and you too can look like a movie star! Thanks to the LA FACIALIST for the fabulous hacks!
