Caroline Flack’s friends raise money for suicide prevention

Although Caroline Flack respectfully kept tight lipped about her relationship with Prince Harry, it is widely known that the two had a history together. The Love Island host lost her battle with anxiety and mental health when she took her own life in February of 2020.

Caroline’s personal trainer, Bradley Simmonds, is rallying family and friends to raise money in her name and to elevate suicide prevention conversations.

According to their fundraising site, Bradley says, “I know how much exercise helped Caroline with her mental health so I wanted to create a challenge where her family and friends can come together and do something powerful in her memory. Hopefully this challenge will raise awareness for others to seek support whilst also raising money for Samaritans.”

Bradley explained the concept to BBC Breakfast. He says that he organized the strenuous two-day hike in the Lake District that they’ve christened, “Climb for Caroline.” It wont be easy… the hike is taking place at the highest peak in England!

Bradley is keeping quiet about who is participating until he has everyone’s approval. “We’ve got some really good names and really good friends of Caroline…we’ve got some of her close family,” he hints. “We’re all really excited to be raising money in Caroline’s name.”

Mental health charities and initiatives have been a priority for both Prince Harry and Prince William since they became active working royals. “Mental health is a sensitive subject amongst a lot of people, but it doesn’t need to be.” Prince Harry once told ITV. “I think we need to talk about it more, get rid of the stigma.”

In April of 2019, it was announced that Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey are collaborating on a documentary series about mental health for Apple TV+.
