The Queen is celebrating 70 years on the throne! The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee kicks off the first week of June but you don’t have to be in the UK to celebrate the longest-reigning monarch in British history! Here’s a list of events happening around Los Angeles, California to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II –

Rose Tree Cottage Jubilee Tea: Enjoy Jubilee Tea at Meghan Markle’s favorite local tea spot! Mary and Edmund Fry are local celebrities thanks to a pre-Duchess tea tutorial with an actress named Meghan Markle! She stopped by the Rose Tree Cottage to learn how to properly have tea before a meeting with the Queen. Mayflower Club’s Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration: “Celebrating Queen Elizabeth II 70th year reign. Formal ballroom dance with a champagne toast, cake, and tea. The No-Host bar will be open.” Expect a live band for foxtrot, cha-cha, waltz, rumba, and swing dancing. Semi-formal attire is required. Members pay $25. Non-members pay $35. Door price is $60. God Save the Queen! – Big Jubilee Lunch: Take part in an unprecedented celebration as we mark the 70th year of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. This event is registered with the royal website to join with others around the globe. “Extra fun and frivolity for those who come at 10 am to help set up!” According to their event description, “This will be an uproarious affair held outdoors at long tables. Expect cheering, toasts, a quiz about Her Majesty’s reign, door prizes, Union Jack paper plates, English Crackers, and general silliness!” $57.50 includes 3 finger sandwiches, a wee scoop of Coronation Chicken on salad greens, sausage roll bite, scone with jam and real English clotted cream, tea, and party provisions. Queen’s Jubilee Tea Party!: Not necessarily Queen Elizabeth related but still so much fun! “Riverside Dickens Festival invites you to Queens Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations! Please join us for afternoon tea!” Guests will enjoy a 3-course meal with her majesty Queen Victoria as well as a Victorian timeline fashion show highlighting fashions from 1837-1897.
