Meghan Markle is keeping busy helping others. On July 31st, Migrateful UK tweeted, “We’re so excited to share that we have received a donation of £8000 (Approximately $10,000) from The Royal Foundation on behalf of The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle! We are immensely grateful for this donation which will go towards supporting the Migrateful mission ?”
A relatively new charity, Migrateful was launched in July of 2017. According to their website, their mission is to, “empower and celebrate refugees and vulnerable migrants on their journey to integration, by supporting them to run their own cookery classes.” They do this through offering culinary classes led by refugees, asylum seekers and migrants struggling to integrate and access employment. Their objective is to help women find work by supporting them to share their cooking skills.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially dissolved their charity, SussexRoyal, but are still distributing the remaining funds. Meanwhile, the Sussexes have announced plans to create a new nonprofit called Archewell. In June, The Telegraph reported, “Sources said the couple were responding to current affairs, redirecting their efforts to the Black Lives Matter cause and the wider repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
